Maya

Maya was one of my first ever clients. I have known her for nearly two years. She had not done any exercise for over three years as she had been busy bringing up two children. Her main goal was to tone up.

We started off with a VO2 max test to give an idea of her fitness level and a foundation for us to work from. We would go back to this test in 6 weeks time to see how far Maya had progressed.

We started meeting up every other week and started with a park programme for the first month and a half. The programme included fast walk for 25 minutes at 45-55% of Maya's maximum heart rate, followed by step-ups for 8 minutes, then squats, tricep dips, press ups and donkey kicks. For Maya's core work we started with a basic crunch, oblique crunch and back extensions.

Maya stuck to it and had a good attitude. She was determined to get her body the way she wanted it. I still see Maya every two weeks. We are now focusing on core and stability work.
